| Dear Todd & Tanis,
Your Penassi cabin was the perfect spot for a memorable father-son week long getaway. It offers pristine seclusion and a fabulous setting to savor sunsets and the stars. We are avid and veteran fishermen in Canada; this was one of our best trips. The two lakes afford an excellent variety of fishing (each has its own distinct features—with a great portage between the two). We found it just the right amount of water to cover in a week. Despite high sun, little cloud cover and warm lake temps (in the low 70s), we had excellent action overall. The pike were steady on Penassi (we caught about 150 during the week), mostly on spoons, with lots of nice fish in the 30s. Our biggest pike was 40". The warm temps made the walleye fishing a challenge, but we still caught about 300 throughout the week on Picture Narrows, our biggest just under 26". Lots of nice walleye in the low 20s. We especially enjoyed the abundant loons (10 held church outside the cabin on Sunday morning). Todd was extremely attentive to our needs, and kept us well supplied with minnows. All in all, I heartily recommend Crow Lake Outfitters and Penassi/Picture Narrows for the beautiful seclusion, excellent fishing action, and great service.
Thanks for a wonderful week!

Our group wanted to drop you a note as a follow up to our visit this past September to your outpost. For many years we have been visiting your area at least once a year. We have spent many hours fishing and enjoying several different lakes and camps. We want to tell you, your outpost is second to none. The fly-in experience is a must for any fisherman.
Your accommodations were top notch. The service you provide from the flight in and out, cabin, boat/motor, and bait were as professional as it gets. The fully furnished cabin, which we slept 7, to the shower, sauna, and screened porch area overlooking the lake made for a very relaxing evening during three awesome days of catching quality fish. We normally try and plan our trip earlier in the year, but September was the only time we could all get away. We didn’t know what to expect concerning quality and quantity of fish we would catch.
Let me tell you, Loonhaunt Lake did not let us down. We were able to get our fill of fresh walleye for every meal. With the fish nearly outside the door of the cabin, our shore lunch experience went to new levels. We released the trophy size walleye, but smaller ones we cleaned were delicious. We landed several very nice northern pike. There were several things about this trip that threw it over the top, but I will definitely remember catching (2) small mouth wall mounters on back to back casts. They couldn’t hardly keep me in the boat and definitely couldn’t shut me up with bragging rights. We managed to boat many small mouth on this trip. I can’t wait to experience this lake during the spawning season for these bass. I know this lake will explode on the banks with all the rock and coastline cover. It is going to be a great time. We look forward to our visit next spring and the development of many new stories!
Thanks again from our group.
